Shaping the landscapes of tomorrow

SLM Partners is a real assets manager investing in regenerative agriculture and forestry.

We invest in land and partner with skilled local operators to build regenerative, resilient and profitable land systems.

Regenerative

Achieve positive impacts on soil health, carbon and biodiversity.

Resilient

Build resilience to climate change and other natural capital risks.

Profitable

Deliver attractive risk-returns for long-term investors through natural real assets.

Our mission is to help scale up regenerative agriculture and forestry.

Our Strategies

Founded in 2009, SLM Partners manages $610m in assets through funds and separate accounts across USA, Europe and Australia. Our strategies span across croplands, grasslands and forestlands.

We believe that regenerative land system can deliver superior risk-adjusted returns.

Truly sustainable financial returns can only be achieved if we protect and restore the natural capital we depend on.

Pioneering investments in ecological systems

Through our research and experience, we have been building the investment case for regenerative agriculture and forestry systems for over a decade.

  • Managing for positive impact

All our strategies seek to generate positive impacts on carbon storage, biodiversity, soil health, water and local communities, while building resilience to climate change.

  • Climate

Turn landscapes into carbon sinks, build nature-based carbon capture solutions in trees and soils and increase resilience to extreme climate events.

  • Biodiversity

Protect and restore habitats for biodiversity on and around farms and forests. Adopt regenerative practices that promote ground cover, reduce chemical inputs, increase crop diversity, protect forest habitats and adopt efficient nutrient management.

  • Soil Health

By adopting more diversity of crops, year-round ground cover, biological fertility and a reduction in chemical inputs, our farmers can improve soil microbiology and gradually increase levels in soil organic matter.

  • Water

Regulate the flow of water on the landscape with improved water infiltration and retention in soils. Eliminate or reduce synthetic fertilisers and introduce cover crops to minimise run-off of nitrate and phosphate.

  • Communities

Partner with regenerative farmers and foresters to grow their operations. Support R&D to bridge the knowledge and financial gap needed to make regenerative land management mainstream.

The Sustainable Investment Awards judging panel praised SLM Partners' pioneering regenerative land management practices as […] "necessary" and "credible."
