Hylton is a co-founder of SLM Partners and sits on the Board of Directors.

Hylton Murray-Philipson established Morgan Grenfell in Brazil in 1982 and was later Chief Executive of the investment bank Henry Ansbacher in New York. In 1992, he founded Wingate Ventures Limited, specialising in the provision of corporate finance services to businesses making a positive contribution to the environment.

In 1999, he arranged and participated in an investment into the mail order business JP Boden, which went on to increase in value by 20 times. Hylton also arranged and participated in a management buy-in to Geothermal International, the UK’s leading installer of commercial scale ground sourced heat pumps, and later arranged the company’s partial sale to Scottish and Southern Electricity.

Hylton is a co-founder of Agrivert Ltd, a company specialising in the recycling of organic wastes to agricultural land. In 2008 he raised $30m to take the business into the generation of power from household waste via Anaerobic Digestion and the production of compost for agriculture.

Hylton farms 1,500 acres of his own land in the UK with beef cattle and arable enterprises. He is Trustee of further landholdings in Northern Ireland, and was partner in Otjumue Sud Pty Ltd, a conservation-related land management programme on 50,000 acres of former cattle farms in Namibia.
